Yo Nate, funny you should ask . I’ve been puealgd with a bad left knee for almost 20 years. first off, if you ever smash , twist, or torque your knees, the best thing to do is ice,ice and ice. When swelling is gone, you should definitely do exercises every week to keep them strong. a good one to start with is seated wall squats. this will help re-align the knees with the ankles and hips. skateboarding is very one sided, thus you wear out one side of you body more than another. for instance, you usually push more with one leg or the other, or have a go to trick ( hardflips for me ). when you do things over and over and over, your body gets lopsided . anything you can do to balance you back out will help you. find a wall, back up against it so it supporting your back, and pretend like your sitting in a chair. dont let you knee caps go past your toes ( imaging a straight line from your toes to the ceiling and that’s as far as you should squat. hold it till your legs shake. this will be a great start. keep checking back on this site. my plan is to have routines , excercises and links to books and information that has helped me over the years. believe it or not, i’m almost 40 and a can still skate ! that is my goal. to help others achieve the same thing ! thanks for hitting me up Nate !
